Ana Martinez-Donate and Mariana Lazo -MERHG affiliates- received a COVID-19 supplement award from NICHD for Dr. Martinez-Donate’s R21 (CRISOL: Building Community Resilience and Integrating Efforts to Understand and Address Syndemic Health Conditions Afflicting Young Latino Immigrants) with an additional budget of $250,000 in direct costs. With the supplement funds, the team will provide COVID-19 specific training to a cohort of Latino community leaders so they can support other community members with risk reduction, access to testing, and treatment. They will be evaluating the impact of that peer-driven intervention, as well as the Latino Health Collective and CRISOLCONTIGO.COM website.
